Sleep disorders, insomnia, caused by Coca Cola, caffeine, not cured by Ambien, Xanax, Valium, online Soma. Often sleep disorders and sleep deprivation caused by coffee, tea, Pepsi or drugs with caffeine. Rest is key to restoration and health. Lactic acid from exercise helps sleep

             If you cut your finger, you tape it. If it’s too deep, a doctor may suture it. If you break your ankle, he may apply a cast. These are specialized forms of rest—arresting the tissues or immobilizing them to allow healing. If you have a heart attack, bed rest and oxygen minimize your heart’s work so it can heal.

            Don’t ask your doctor for a sleeping pill to counteract caffeine. It’s a serious deterrent to good sleep. In a UCLA study, those who got 7 hours sleep or more lived longer than those who got six or less.

            Here are some suggestions if you have sleep troubles:

1.      A walk after supper or later before turning in may help unwind, 15 minutes or longer.

2.      Follow the walk with a warm, but not hot bath.

3.      Relaxation exercises can be helpful.

4.      Cold feet is often a problem, wear warm socks.

5.      End your day on a low key. Avoid exciting TV and put off the argument until tomorrow.

6.      “Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath,” apologize.

7.      A heavy supper is a problem. Fruit in the summer or soups in the winter make less work for the stomach; two meals are better than three for many.

8.      Regularity can be important; have a fixed time for bed.

9.      Fresh air in the bedroom is an aid, as is darkness.

10.  If noise is a problem, ear plugs or a pillow may help.

11.  Herb teas such as catnip, hop or passion flower help.

12.  Melatonin is a natural remedy that has other benefits and would be available at health food stores.
